fdi4sustainability.org is an independent and not-for-profit project that focuses on communicating a vision and encouraging free and open dialogue about about the role of foreign direct investment in achieving a sustainable future for our planet. We firmly believe that it is in the best interest of governments, companies, and society at large for global private-sector investment decisions and the enterprises supported by foreign direct investment to treat sustainability as a fundamental criterion. Through simply sharing ideas on this website, we aim to nurture and encourage future discussions between and among business and national development stakeholders.
Vision
Our vision is not our own; in fact we believe this is a vision that is (or at least should be) shared by everyone. Given the reality that, only 40 years from now, the world’s population will have reached 9 billion people, there is little to argue with here. We borrow our vision from the World Business Council for Sustainable Development:

Our mission, on the other hand, is our own. We hone in on both collaboration (as a tool) and FDI (as the mechanism) to help achieve our vision:
